Times of prayer and worship at St Cross Catholic Primary School aims to provide the opportunity for pupils, staff, families and, on occasion, the wider school community to:
- Contemplate something of the mystery of God
- Reflect upon spiritual/ moral issues
- Explore their own beliefs
- Respond to and celebrate life
- Experience a sense of belonging
- Develop a common ethos and shared values
- Enrich religious experience
- Grow in liturgical understanding and development
- Reinforce prayers which are part of Catholic tradition
- Take time to ‘wonder at’, ‘come to terms with’ and ‘give worth to.’
St Cross School Prayer:
Thank you Lord, that we are all unique.
Thank you that you made each one of us.
Help us to live like Jesus.
Help us to respect each other, and love one another.
Help us to celebrate each other’s special talents and always try our best in all we do.
We are one family at school, at home, and at church,
where we pray and grow together in God’s love.
Amen
The Stations of the Cross
As a Trust of schools, we have united together in our Lenten prayer preparations and spiritual journey for our children. It is important we teach our children and model example of prayer. We have, with the aid of our talented students in all of our Trust schools, compiled a booklet of the Stations of the Cross, which we encourage every family to use and pray together this Lent.
