Together we grow in God’s love

School Mission Statement and Values

Our Mission Statement

"Together we grow in God’s love"

The Catholic Life of the school is given the highest priority where the development of an authentic Catholic ethos is actively sought by all. Children are empowered to have a thorough understanding of the Church’s liturgical year, its seasons, rites and symbols.  Within the school community, prayer has a profound and visible effect on the development of all pupils and staff irrespective of ability or faith background. As a school, we promote a love of faith; engaging and inspiring our children to take responsibility for promoting the Catholic ethos of our community whilst seeking to lead and develop this further. Developing a greater understanding of vocation is fundamental in giving our children a meaningful reason to live out their faith. Teachers ensure that children are provided with opportunities to develop their thinking and respond to questions of faith. Our school celebrates, develops and enhances the Catholic Life of our children and ensures our Catholic ethos underpins all that we do and strive to achieve.

Christ has no body on earth but ours. Ours are the hands with which He heals.

Ours are His eyes, His feet, His lips. Ours are the hearts through which He loves.

  • Be an inclusive family, inspired by gospel values through service to others.

School Values:

Curiosity

Exploring God’s creation and asking questions to find out more. Everything around us was created by God. Being curious about these things – from tiny insects to enormous planets, from the languages of the Earth to the patterns made by numbers – brings us closer to God.

“Psalms 119: 18 Open my eyes, so that I may see the wonderful truths in your law.”

Courage

Courage is also about a life-long process of challenging ourselves to be the best that we can be – even when times are hard.

“Mark 5:36 …..Don’t be afraid, only believe.”

Compassion

Kindness involves serviceyou put other people’s needs before your own, compassion –  you care about how others are feeling and you want to help them and mercy  - you respond to others with gentleness, showing love and tenderness.

"Love is patient, love is kind" (1 Cor 13: 4)

Community

We belong to a community where everyone is:

  • valued, as we do not prejudge or discriminate,
  • feels safe,
  • respected, and we celebrate difference and treat everyone equitably.

1 John 1: 7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, ...
