Cultural Day - Spanish - 13th July 2021
Both children and staff in Year 2 really enjoyed our Spanish day. We started the day by learning numbers 1-10 in Spanish. Then, we made our own maracas and played along to some traditional Spanish music. After break, the children participated in a Flamenco workshop where they got to show off their best flamenco pose. Barnaby Bear also come to visit to tell us all about his trip to Spain. He visited the capital Madrid, watched a football match and took photos of a bull fight. After all the excitement Barnaby had to take a siesta. We then finished the day by learning about Pablo Picasso and created our own cubism inspired art work and Spanish flags. Lots of fun was had by all.
Science Week 2020- w.b. 7.6.21
This week we had a Peggy Problem. Our scientific question was which peg has the strongest grip? We discussed different ways we could test the pegs grip and then carried out our experiment. We hung socks on a washing line with wooden and plastic pegs. We measured how many cups it took to fill up the sock and see if the sock would fall off the line. After looking at our results we concluded that the plastic peg had the strongest grip.
