Secondary School transition
Transition into Secondary School
In order to prepare the children for the next big educational move in their lives we have established a number of programmes that are in place ready for that preparation.
We start thinking about the move as early as year 5 and during this year arrange a 1 day visit to our main feeder St Mary’s Catholic Secondary School for a familiarisation day.
In Year 6 we arrange visits to St Cross from the Year 7 tutors from feeder secondary schools for an informal meeting with the pupils and year 6 class teacher (and the SENCO if appropriate)
In the summer term the children also have the opportunity to attend a moving up day where the year 6 pupils will visit their their allocated secondary schools and meet the relevant staff.
SECONDARY SCHOOLS
Our main feeder school is St Mary's Catholic School in Bishop Stortford.
Other local schools include, The Broxbourne School, The John Warner School and Robert Barclay Academy (RBA) . Please note that this is not an exhaustive list.
