Eco-Council
Welcome to our St Cross Eco-Council page!
What is the Eco-Council?
Eco-Council is a group of pupils who meet each week to discuss eco friendly and environmental issues within school which prepares children to live their future lives with consideration for global issues. There are two eco councillors from each class in Key Stage 1 and 2 who were democratically elected by their classmates.
Our Eco representatives planted trees and bulbs around our school grounds to boost wildlife, improve our environment and take action against climate change. Their teamwork and enthusiasm made the project a huge success and we are excited to see our new trees grow!
Autumn term:
We have created posters to put up around our playground and field to remind children not to drop litter. We are encouraging each other not to drop litter !

Our Eco Council is launching Eco Warriors to celebrate children who help protect our environment by recycling, picking up litter, saving water or energy, and caring for nature.
Children can nominate themselves or others. Each week, one outstanding eco act will be chosen, and the winning child will receive an Eco Warrior certificate presented by their year group’s Eco Council representative.
Please encourage your child to be an Eco Warrior!
