"Without health and fitness, wealth is without value, knowledge is useless, art cannot become manifest, and music cannot be played"
Physical Education is a very important part of the curriculum at St Cross. We believe that it:
educates and stimulates our children, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually, promoting lifelong healthy attitudes. As well as improving pupil knowledge of fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance and flexibility, it is proven to improve self confidence, self esteem and self control. It can also improve a child’s attitude towards achieving personal goals.
At St Cross we strive to educate our children to be able to perform a variety of physical activities and to be physically fit. We encourage children to participate in regular physical activity. It is important that our pupils know the implications and benefits from involvement in physical activities.
We also offer a rich variety of sporting activities after school through the support of our network of teachers, parents and external providers. Please find on the following pages details of some of the sports that we provide. You will also find some helpful sporting tips!
For any information about joining any of the programmes please contact our PE leader Mrs Burling through the school office.
