80th Aniversary Celebrations 23.05.14
A day of celebrations, which was attended by Sister Marion, Headteacher between 1987 – 1999 and Betty McCoy, one of the original eight pupils who joined the school 80 years ago, started with mass at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church followed by the grand opening of the Peace Garden.
Many people across the school community helped create the Peace Garden and it could not have done it without everyone’s help.
Afterwards the pupils led an afternoon of dancing from different decades, with each year group performing a dance from a different decade. Songs included In the Mood by Glen Miller, Grease Lightning, YMCA, Can’t Touch This by MC Hammer and Happy by Pharrell Williams.
The day was ended with the releasing of balloons.
